Joy E. Walker Steward

Support4Change is pleased to have several poems of courage and inspiration by an exceptional woman who has faced many challenges in her life, beginning with growing up as an African-American in our race-conscious society. Then her first major challenge was losing her eyesight as a young woman. Later there was a divorce and single parenthood with two teenagers. Next came the death of her mother from cancer and the diagnosis of her own breast cancer. But she still had trials to go through in 2000, when her father died and in March, 2001, when her sister died of a sudden heart attack.

Through it all she has not only survived but has triumphed, growing stronger in her faith and using her experiences to create poems and essays that reflect her struggles. Then she shares these, and her stories, with audiences who are inspired by her spirit and enthusiasm. We are pleased to bring you this poem of hers. To learn more about her and how you can purchase a laminted copies of her poems for a moderate price, please contact Support4Change.

Here are poems of hers that we have on this website.
