I give thanks for life.
I give thanks for the teachers in Afghanistan who risk their lives to educate children despite the threats of the Taliban.
I give thanks for the people who create the packaging for the cereal so that it stays fresh and crisp.

I give thanks for life.
I give thanks for the firefighters who work valiantly to put out the fires that have already destroyed several homes.
I give thanks for the workers who clean the floors in the food processing plant so my food is less likely to be unhealthy.

I give thanks for life.
I give thanks for the rescuers who searched for the family that was lost in the snow.
I give thanks for the people who test my pills for safety and purity.

I give thanks for life.
I give thanks for the reporters who assemble the stories I read in the paper.
I give thanks for the workers who spray the orange trees so I can have orange juice in the morning.

Miscellaneous thanks during vacation in Australia and New Zealand from December 8 to January 8, 2007
I give thanks for life.
I give thanks for the crocodile, kangaroo, lambs, and other animals I been given to eat.
I give thanks for my husband who paid for tee-shirts we're bringing home as souvenirs.
I give thanks for his willingness to carry them in his suitcase, which was more than his share of the work.
I give thanks for all the waiters and waitresses who served us so graciously.
I give thanks for all the cooks who cooked our meals.
I give thanks for all the mechanics who kept the tour buses, trolleys, trams, boats, trains, cars, and other vehicles in good working order so we could enjoy safe transportation.
I give thanks for all the motel clerks whose advice led us to experiences we would not have otherwise had.
I give thanks for all the cleaning people who made our beds and provided for our comfort away from home.
I give thanks for the caretakers of a bird sanctuary so that I could see and photograph many unusual birds.
I give thanks for miles and miles of beautiful lupine along the roads of New Zealand.
I give thanks for the opportunity to have many new experiences.
