Introduction to Parenting
Helping parents raise resourceful, resilient, and compassionate children
If you have come to this page from an article in ChildhoodAffirmations.com, I hope you will find a lot of good information. It has been packaged a little differently than it was in the site devoted entirely to parenting, but there is essentially the same information. It is especially designed to help you become a "coach" in the Parenting Game (which is one of the articles in the navigation bar on the left).
If you missed reading the homepage of Childhood Affirmations, let me repeat it here:
Being a parent is easy. Parenting is another matter altogether and is one of the most challenging jobs imaginable. But if we want to be successful in bringing a new life into this uncertain, complex world and in steering him or her through childhood into adulthood, it helps to keep in mind three principles:
Confidence in parenting arises from having a strong self-image and a deep self-understanding
Parents who learn strategies for confident and practical parenting can play "The Parenting Game" with less stress and greater effectiveness
Children benefit from words of encouragement appropriate to their stage of growth
To discover how you can raise resourceful, resilient, and compassionate children, be sure to read the articles on parenting listed on the left.
