Thanks to Special Friends

Today's Take-a-Break
Take a moment to toast to all those who have helped you become the best of what you could be — especially when you were dealing with trying circumstances. |

Today I want to share a quotation by Albert Schweitzer:
Sometimes our light goes out but it is blown again into flame by an encounter with another human being. Each of us owes deepest thanks to those who have rekindled this inner light.
As I think about the wisdom in this simple statement, I remembered some of the people in my past who have stuck with me through thick and thin. It feels good to bring them to mind again. So my suggestion concerning the quotation by Schweitzer is that you reflect on a time in your past when someone (friend, teacher, spouse, fellow employee) blew into light a flame (perhaps a dream) that had gone out, renewing your life by that encouragement. If you need that kind of support today, taking some moments to remember that earlier situation may help you in your present circumstances.
Incidentally, an article that goes well with this suggestion is by Joyce and Barry Vissell called Love Encourages Fulfillment of Dreams, which is the sidebar of Recognizing Our Parents' Blessings.
