Learning to Forgive

Learning how to forgive ourselves and others is the cornerstone of a balanced and peaceful life, as the articles in this section explore.

The difficulty that people have in forgiving another person — and even more so in forgiving themselves — is so important that we include these articles both here and in the Relationships section.

Frequently it is not the unwillingness to forgive that is a stumbling block to change, but our misunderstanding of what forgiveness is all about. So if your heart has become burdened with anger and resentment about someone — especially if that someone is you — it's probably time you found a way to release the weight of anger and guilt you've been carrying and get on with your life. You have better things to do with your energy.
